As it stands today, we are scheduled to move into our first chapter house in Fall 2011. Originally the university planned to build an entirely new Greek Community, which was to be located in the general vicinity of Bluff Hall. However, that project came in drastically over budget and it was decided that the only other feasible option was to completely renovate the family housing apartment buildings in Cougar Village (formerly known as Tower Lake) and turn them into Greek Housing.
During the first phase of the project, three 23 man chapter houses will be built to accommodate ourselves, Sigma Phi Epsilon and Alpha Kappa Lambda. The current financial model puts the first years "rent" at $134,220 with an expected increase of 3% each year. Our Housing Corps is currently working with University Housing staff on various methods of fulfilling this financial obligations. Once a plan is finalized we will update all of you with that information. After all of the details are worked out the chapter will be required to sign a 5-year agreements with the University guaranteeing 100% occupancy, meet established deadlines, and meet insurance requirements.
